Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: getgrav
Product: grav

Description

Grav versions from 2.0.22 up to but not including 2.1.7 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability in the Clockwork profiler. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers behind a same-host HTTP proxy to read sensitive profiler records. These records may expose system and plugin configurations, secrets, request metadata, and queries, leading to exposure of sensitive information.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-109325 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in Grav's Clockwork profiler component affecting versions >=2.0.22 and <2.1.7. The vulnerability arises because the profiler trusts loopback REMOTE_ADDR values, allowing unauthenticated attackers who can position themselves behind a same-host HTTP proxy to access profiler data. This data includes sensitive system and plugin configuration details, secrets, request metadata, and queries, potentially compromising confidentiality.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker with access to a same-host HTTP proxy can bypass authentication controls in the Clockwork profiler and read sensitive internal information. This exposure includes system and plugin configurations and secrets, which could facilitate further attacks or information leakage. The vulnerability does not require user interaction or privileges and has a high severity score of 8.7.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Grav versions 2.1.7 and later. Users should upgrade to version 2.1.7 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. Until patched, restricting access to the Clockwork profiler and limiting HTTP proxy configurations to trusted users can reduce risk.
