CVE-2026-109382: CWE-863 Incorrect Authorization in bilalnaseer WSP MCP – Free MCP Plugin for WordPress: Connect Claude, ChatGPT & AI Agents
Description
The WSP MCP AI Agents Connector plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Sensitive Information Disclosure in versions up to, and including, 2.9.5. This is due to the wsp_get_posts MCP tool being registered with an empty capability requirement while the MCP endpoint's authenticate() method accepts any logged-in user, and the wsp_execute_get_posts() callback honouring a caller-supplied status=all argument that expands into a WP_Query over 'publish', 'draft', 'pending' and 'future' posts with no author or ownership filter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to read the titles, URLs, authors, categories, tags and 40-word excerpts of every unpublished (draft/pending/scheduled) post on the site.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-109382 is an Incorrect Authorization vulnerability (CWE-863) in the WSP MCP AI Agents Connector plugin for WordPress (bilalnaseer) affecting versions up to 2.9.5. The vulnerability occurs because the 'wsp_get_posts' MCP tool is registered without capability restrictions, and the MCP endpoint's authenticate() method permits any logged-in user. The callback 'wsp_execute_get_posts()' processes a caller-supplied 'status=all' argument that queries posts in all states including unpublished ones without filtering by author or ownership. This allows authenticated attackers with Subscriber-level privileges or higher to access sensitive details of all unpublished posts on the site.
Potential Impact
Authenticated users with low privileges (Subscriber-level and above) can access sensitive information about unpublished posts, including titles, URLs, authors, categories, tags, and excerpts. This could lead to unintended disclosure of confidential or in-progress content. The vulnerability does not affect post integrity or availability but compromises confidentiality.
Mitigation Recommendations
No official patch or fix is currently documented. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict user roles to trusted users only and consider disabling or limiting access to the WSP MCP plugin endpoints. Monitor for vendor updates and apply patches promptly once released.
