CVE-2026-109409: Command Injection in HBAI-Ltd Toonflow-app
Description
A flaw has been found in HBAI-Ltd Toonflow-app up to 1.1.8. The affected element is the function child_process.exec of the file src/routes/setting/fileManagement/openFolder.ts of the component Open Folder Endpoint. Executing a manipulation of the argument path can lead to command injection. The attack needs to be launched locally. The exploit has been published and may be used. Upgrading to version 2.0.0 is sufficient to fix this issue. You should upgrade the affected component. The vendor explains: "The report targets ToonFlow version 1.1.8. The current release is 2.0.4, which is the result of a substantial architectural refactor; the code paths referenced in the report do not apply to the current version. The report does not describe a vulnerability in any supported release."

Technical Analysis
A command injection vulnerability was identified in the Toonflow-app by HBAI-Ltd affecting versions 1.1.0 through 1.1.8. The issue resides in the child_process.exec call in src/routes/setting/fileManagement/openFolder.ts, specifically in the Open Folder Endpoint component. Manipulating the argument 'path' passed to this function can lead to command injection. Exploitation requires local access. The vendor confirms that the vulnerability does not exist in the current supported versions (2.0.0 and later) due to architectural changes, and upgrading to 2.0.0 or newer resolves the issue.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the affected system via command injection in the Open Folder Endpoint. This could lead to unauthorized command execution with the privileges of the affected application. The CVSS 4.8 (medium) score reflects the local attack vector and required privileges. There are no known exploits in the wild.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade the Toonflow-app to version 2.0.0 or later. The vendor confirms that the vulnerability does not exist in supported releases starting from 2.0.0 due to architectural refactoring. No additional mitigation is required once upgraded.
