CVE-2026-109414: CWE-89 Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an SQL Command ('SQL Injection') in appsbd Vitepos – Point of Sale (POS) for WooCommerce
Description
The Vitepos – Point of Sale (POS) for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to blind SQL Injection via the 'src_by[].val.start / src_by[].val.end (operator 'bt')' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 3.6.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with vendor-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. This is an incomplete fix for a previously patched SQL injection (version 3.6.0), which addressed only the gt/lt/le/ge operators while leaving the 'bt' (BETWEEN) operator branch unpatched.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-109414 describes a blind SQL Injection vulnerability in the Vitepos – Point of Sale (POS) for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress. The issue arises from improper neutralization of special elements in SQL commands (CWE-89) specifically via the 'src_by[].val.start / src_by[].val.end' parameters when the 'bt' (BETWEEN) operator is used. The vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 3.6.1. It is an incomplete fix of a prior SQL injection vulnerability patched in version 3.6.0, which only addressed the gt/lt/le/ge operators but left the 'bt' operator vulnerable. Authenticated attackers with vendor-level privileges can append SQL queries to extract sensitive information from the database.
Potential Impact
An attacker with authenticated vendor-level access or higher can exploit this vulnerability to perform blind SQL injection attacks, allowing unauthorized extraction of sensitive information from the database. The vulnerability does not affect data integrity or availability but compromises confidentiality. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
Mitigation Recommendations
No official patch or fix is currently documented or linked by the vendor. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict vendor-level access to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity related to SQL query manipulation. Avoid using affected plugin versions if possible.
