CVE-2026-109556: Exposed Dangerous Method or Function in tianma-if EdgeEver
Description
EdgeEver Desktop versions 1.92.0 through 1.112.0 contain a remote code execution vulnerability in the desktop:acp-probe IPC handler. This handler does not verify the sender and executes a caller-supplied executable path. Attackers who can execute scripts in a renderer context, such as through stored cross-site scripting in template-preview or drag-preview features, can exploit this to launch local executables with the user's privileges.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-109556 affects EdgeEver Desktop versions 1.92.0 through 1.112.0. The vulnerability exists in the desktop:acp-probe IPC handler, which lacks proper sender verification and executes an input.path executable supplied by the caller. This flaw allows attackers with script execution capabilities in a renderer process, for example via stored cross-site scripting in template-preview or drag-preview, to invoke probeAcpAdapter and execute arbitrary local executables with the privileges of the user running EdgeEver.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows remote code execution on the affected system with the privileges of the logged-in user. This can lead to full compromise of the user's environment, including execution of arbitrary code and potential further system control.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a patch is available, restrict or disable features that allow script execution in renderer contexts such as template-preview or drag-preview to reduce exposure. Monitor vendor communications for updates on fixes.
