Published: 10/16/2026 (10/16/2026, 11:08:03 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Product: MAIO

Description

The MAIO WordPress plugin before 7.3.22 does not properly restrict access to its analytics data, treating a credential value shipped verbatim in its own public source as a valid API key, which allows unauthenticated attackers to retrieve the stored crawl-analytics log, including each recorded visitor's IP address, user agent and referer.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-109930 describes an information exposure vulnerability (CWE-200) in the MAIO WordPress plugin prior to version 7.3.22. The plugin fails to restrict access to its analytics data properly because it uses a credential value embedded verbatim in its public source code as a valid API key. This flaw enables unauthenticated attackers to access stored crawl-analytics logs, which include sensitive visitor information such as IP addresses, user agents, and referer headers.

Potential Impact

An attacker can retrieve sensitive visitor analytics data without authentication, potentially compromising user privacy by exposing IP addresses and browsing details. However, the vulnerability does not impact data integrity or availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the MAIO WordPress plugin to version 7.3.22 or later, where this issue is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated. Patch status is confirmed by the affectedVersions field indicating versions before 7.3.22 are vulnerable.
