Users should monitor the vendor advisory for updates. Until a fix is available, restrict author-level access to trusted users only and consider disabling or restricting the YMC Filter plugin's autocomplete REST endpoint if possible. Applying web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block suspicious payloads targeting the 'post_title' parameter may help mitigate exploitation attempts.

Description

The YMC Filter WordPress plugin up to version 3.12.19 is vulnerable to stored DOM-based cross-site scripting (XSS) via the 'post_title' parameter. Authenticated users with author-level access or higher can inject malicious scripts that execute when any user accesses the affected page. The vulnerability is exacerbated by an autocomplete REST endpoint that allows unauthenticated users to trigger the injected payload simply by interacting with the search box.
