Until a fix is available, administrators should consider disabling or removing the Advanced Views – Display Framework plugin or restricting access to pages that use avf-layout blocks with user-submitted comments. Monitoring for plugin updates and applying official patches when released is recommended.

Description

The Advanced Views – Display Framework for Gutenberg & Elementor WordPress plugin is vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting (XSS) via the 'comment' parameter in all versions up to and including 3.9.6. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary scripts. These scripts execute whenever a user accesses a page containing the injected comment, including pages displaying pending or unapproved comments due to lack of approval-status filtering.
