Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: mateaix
Product: MateCloud

Description

MateCloud versions up to 5.0.8 have a missing authorization vulnerability in the StorageController's /api/v1/admin/storage endpoints. This flaw allows any authenticated user, including low-privilege or self-registered users, to manage object storage without proper authorization. Attackers can list objects, obtain pre-signed download URLs for files belonging to other users, delete objects, and upload files at arbitrary keys.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-110108 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in MateCloud through version 5.0.8. The vulnerability exists because the /api/v1/admin/storage endpoints in the StorageController are unprotected, allowing any authenticated user to perform administrative actions on object storage. This includes listing objects, retrieving pre-signed download URLs for other users' files, deleting objects, and uploading files at arbitrary keys. The vulnerability requires only low privileges and no user interaction, making it a high-severity issue with a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.6.

Potential Impact

Exploitation of this vulnerability enables unauthorized access and manipulation of object storage resources. Attackers with low privileges can access, download, delete, or upload files in storage buckets they should not control, potentially leading to data leakage, data loss, or unauthorized data modification.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the /api/v1/admin/storage endpoints and monitor for unauthorized access attempts. Implement additional authorization checks to ensure only properly privileged users can manage object storage.
