AI-suggested
Upgrade the Page Builder by SiteOrigin plugin to version 2.38.0 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the fix properly sanitizes and escapes the widget property to prevent stored XSS.
Description
A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the Page Builder by SiteOrigin WordPress plugin versions before 2.38.0. The flaw arises because a widget property is not properly sanitized or escaped before storage and output in the page builder interface. This allows users with contributor role or higher to inject malicious scripts that execute when higher-privileged users open the affected post in the editor.
