Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in getrebuild's 'rebuild' product (up to version 4.5.0) allows authenticated users with low privileges to bypass authorization controls in AiBot2Controller endpoints (/aibot2). These endpoints accept a chatid parameter from the caller but do not verify whether the caller owns the chatid. This flaw enables attackers to read, delete, exfiltrate, or interrupt AI assistant conversations belonging to other users by supplying their chatid to chat-init, chat-delete, chat-feedback, or chat-stream-stop operations.

Potential Impact

An attacker with low-level authentication can access or manipulate other users' AI assistant conversations, potentially leading to unauthorized data disclosure, deletion, or disruption of service. The vulnerability does not require elevated privileges or user interaction beyond authentication, increasing the risk of misuse within the affected environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to AiBot2Controller endpoints to trusted users only and monitor for unusual activity involving chatid parameters. Avoid exposing these endpoints to untrusted networks or users.
