Published: 10/14/2026 (10/14/2026, 14:16:59 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: papermerge
Product: papermerge-core

Description

Papermerge Core through 3.5.3 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows authenticated users to manipulate other users' pages because page management and OCR endpoints skip has_node_perm checks. Attackers knowing page UUIDs can call /pages/, /pages/move, or /pages/extract to rotate, delete, or extract victims' pages, and trigger OCR via /tasks/ocr.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-110622 is a missing authorization vulnerability in Papermerge Core through version 3.5.3. The issue occurs because the page management and OCR-related API endpoints (/pages/, /pages/move, /pages/extract, /tasks/ocr) skip the necessary has_node_perm permission checks. This allows authenticated users with knowledge of page UUIDs to perform unauthorized actions on other users' pages, including rotation, deletion, extraction, and OCR triggering. The vulnerability has a CVSS 4.0 base score of 7.7, indicating high severity.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users can manipulate pages owned by other users without proper authorization. This can lead to unauthorized modification or deletion of documents, extraction of page content, and forced OCR processing on victim pages. The impact affects confidentiality, integrity, and availability of user data within Papermerge Core.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity involving page UUIDs. Avoid sharing page UUIDs publicly or with untrusted users.
