Published: 10/14/2026 (10/14/2026, 22:52:18 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: n8n-io
Product: n8n

Description

n8n versions before 2.41.4 and 2.42.x before 2.42.1 have a vulnerability in the unauthenticated OAuth authorize endpoint that allows attackers to create unlimited client records by manipulating query strings. This leads to uncontrolled resource consumption and potential disk space exhaustion.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-110843 describes an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in n8n's unauthenticated OAuth authorize endpoint. The endpoint resolves clients by URL path but uses the caller's raw identifier as the record key. Attackers can exploit this by sending identifiers that differ only in their query strings, bypassing the client registration cap and creating unlimited first-party client records. This causes the database to grow until the disk is filled, potentially leading to denial of service due to resource exhaustion.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can cause excessive resource consumption by creating unlimited client records, which can fill the disk and disrupt normal operation of the n8n service. This may result in denial of service conditions due to lack of disk space.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in n8n versions 2.41.4 and 2.42.1. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate this vulnerability.
