CVE-2026-110852: Authentication Bypass Using an Alternate Path or Channel in n8n-io n8n
Description
n8n versions before 1.123.83, 2.x before 2.41.4, and 2.42.x before 2.42.1 have an authentication bypass vulnerability. This occurs because dynamic-path webhook resolution matches requests based solely on the path, ignoring the server-generated unguessable identifier in the URL. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can omit this identifier and execute workflows in unrelated projects using those projects' credentials.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-110852 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in n8n where dynamic-path webhook resolution matches requests on the path alone, disregarding the server-generated identifier that serves as the URL's only unguessable component. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to omit the identifier in requests to webhook, form, or MCP routes and execute workflows in unrelated projects under those projects' credentials. The affected versions are n8n before 1.123.83, all 2.x versions before 2.41.4, and 2.42.x versions before 2.42.1.
Potential Impact
Unauthenticated attackers can bypass authentication controls and execute workflows in unrelated projects using those projects' credentials. This could lead to unauthorized workflow execution, potentially exposing sensitive data or causing unintended actions within the affected n8n instances.
Mitigation Recommendations
A fix is available in n8n versions 1.123.83, 2.41.4, and 2.42.1 and later. Users should upgrade to these versions or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.
