Published: 10/14/2026 (10/14/2026, 22:52:29 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: n8n-io
Product: n8n

Description

n8n versions before 1.123.83 have an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated users to spoof workflow identities by providing a trusted identifier in Execute Sub-workflow inline JSON mode. This flaw enables attackers to access credentials from projects they do not belong to and modify static data and error workflows of other workflows.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-110853 affects n8n versions prior to 1.123.83 and involves an authorization bypass through a user-controlled key. Authenticated members can supply a trusted identifier in the Execute Sub-workflow inline JSON mode to impersonate workflow identities. This allows them to resolve credentials belonging to unauthorized projects and alter another workflow's static data and error-workflow dispatch, potentially impacting workflow integrity and confidentiality.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability permits authenticated users to bypass authorization controls, leading to unauthorized access to credentials from projects they do not belong to. It also allows modification of static data and error workflows of other workflows, which could disrupt workflow operations or cause unintended behavior.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade n8n to version 1.123.83 or later where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated. Patch status is confirmed by the affectedVersions field indicating the fix in 1.123.83.
