Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111312 describes a missing authentication and authorization vulnerability in OpenHealth through version 0.2.0. The affected API endpoints (/api/health-data/[id]) do not verify session or authorId, enabling unauthenticated attackers to access, overwrite, or delete medical record data by specifying a record ID. This results in unauthorized disclosure, modification, and deletion of sensitive health data.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to fully compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of individual medical records by reading, modifying, or deleting them without any access controls. This poses a severe risk to patient privacy and data integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected API endpoints and implement external authentication and authorization controls to prevent unauthorized access.
