AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, users should consider disabling or removing the HT Mega Addons for Elementor plugin or the wpDiscuz plugin with rich editor enabled if present. Avoid placing HT Mega Tabs widgets on pages with comment sections or restrict user input that can include anchor tags with href attributes. Monitor vendor channels for updates and apply official patches once released.

Description

The HT Mega Addons for Elementor plugin for WordPress (up to version 3.2.7) contains a stored DOM-based cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. This flaw arises from improper sanitization and escaping of the 'href' attribute within anchor tags inside the .htmega-tab-nav element. Exploitation requires a co-installed plugin like wpDiscuz with a permissive markup allowlist, the presence of an HT Mega Tabs widget on the same page, and user interaction with the injected link. The vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts that execute in the context of users visiting the affected pages.
