Published: 10/15/2026 (10/15/2026, 21:43:38 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: opsre
Product: go-ldap-admin

Description

go-ldap-admin versions up to 0.6.2 contain a hard-coded RSA private key embedded in the public repository. This key protects encrypted login passwords. An unauthenticated attacker who obtains encrypted passwords can decrypt them offline or by using the /base/decryptpwd endpoint, exposing cleartext LDAP credentials that can be reused.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability CVE-2026-111347 affects go-ldap-admin through version 0.6.2. The software embeds a hard-coded RSA private key in its public repository, which is used to protect encrypted login passwords. Because the private key is publicly accessible, attackers can decrypt captured encrypted passwords either offline or by leveraging the /base/decryptpwd endpoint. This leads to exposure of cleartext LDAP credentials, which can be reused for unauthorized access.

Potential Impact

Attackers can recover cleartext LDAP credentials from encrypted passwords without authentication, enabling potential unauthorized access to LDAP services. This compromises the confidentiality of user credentials and may lead to further system compromise if those credentials are reused.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, avoid using affected versions or restrict access to encrypted password data and the /base/decryptpwd endpoint to trusted users only.
