Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111353 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in Peppermint through version 0.5.5. Authenticated users can exploit this flaw by supplying a user ID in the request body when sending POST requests to /api/v1/time/new or /api/v1/storage/ticket/:id/upload/single. This allows them to create time entries and upload attachments under another user's identity, effectively bypassing proper authorization controls.

Potential Impact

An attacker with valid authentication can impersonate other users to create time entries and upload attachments to tickets, potentially leading to unauthorized data manipulation or misattribution of actions within the system. The vulnerability does not require elevated privileges beyond authentication and has a medium severity rating (CVSS 5.3).

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to authenticated users carefully and monitor for suspicious activity related to time entry and attachment creation.
