WP Fastest Cache plugin for WordPress versions up to 1.5.3 improperly caches the response of wp-activate.php, exposing sensitive information. This cached response includes plaintext usernames and twelve-character passwords of the most recently activated Multisite registrant. Exploitation requires a Multisite subdirectory setup with public user and site registration enabled and occurs after a legitimate user activates their account.

Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can access cached activation responses containing plaintext credentials (username and password) of the most recently activated user in a WordPress Multisite environment. This compromises user account confidentiality but does not affect integrity or availability. The attack surface is limited to Multisite subdirectory installations with public registration enabled.
