Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-111606 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in hcengineering's Huly Platform up to version 0.7.432. The vulnerability exists in the mergeSpecifiedPersons account RPC, which does not properly enforce authorization checks. An authenticated attacker who knows two person UUIDs can merge arbitrary persons, grafting attacker-controlled unverified social IDs onto a victim's person record. This manipulation can be exploited to take over the victim's account by leveraging login or password recovery mechanisms tied to the social IDs.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows authenticated attackers to escalate privileges by merging arbitrary person records, enabling them to associate attacker-controlled social IDs with victim accounts. This can lead to unauthorized account takeover, compromising victim user accounts and their associated data.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or official fix information is provided. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the mergeSpecifiedPersons RPC to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious activity related to person merges.
