CVE-2026-111650: Missing Authentication for Critical Function in HoshinoSuzumi chronoframe
Description
ChronoFrame versions up to 1.0.0 have a missing authentication vulnerability in the server/api/wizard/ handlers. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to reconfigure instances by sending POST requests to /api/wizard/storage, enabling them to redirect uploads and storage reads to attacker-controlled S3 or OpenList providers and overwrite site and map settings. The vulnerability has a high severity with a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.8. A patch is available, and since this is a cloud service, the vendor manages remediation.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-111650 describes a missing authentication vulnerability in ChronoFrame through version 1.0.0. The issue exists in the server/api/wizard/ handlers, allowing unauthenticated attackers to POST to /api/wizard/storage to activate attacker-controlled storage providers (S3 or OpenList). This enables attackers to redirect uploads and storage reads and overwrite site and map settings, effectively compromising the configuration of already configured instances. The vulnerability has a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.8, indicating high severity. The affected versions are all ChronoFrame versions from 0 up to and including 1.0.0. The product is a cloud service, and the vendor manages remediation.
Potential Impact
Unauthenticated attackers can reconfigure ChronoFrame instances by exploiting the missing authentication in the API wizard handlers. This allows redirection of uploads and storage reads to attacker-controlled providers and overwriting of critical site and map settings, potentially leading to data compromise and service disruption.
Mitigation Recommendations
A patch is available for this vulnerability. Since ChronoFrame is a cloud-hosted service, the vendor manages remediation server-side. Users should verify with the vendor advisory that their instances have been updated to the patched version or that the vendor has applied the fix.
