Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-111652 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in Engineercms through version 2.0.5. The issue resides in the AttachController.Attachment functionality, where unauthenticated users can access image and video attachments (.jpg, .png, .bmp, .mp4) by requesting known or derived /attachment/* paths. The system serves these files prior to enforcing authorization controls, allowing unauthorized data access.
Potential Impact
An attacker without any authentication can download project image and video attachments that should be protected by authorization controls. This could lead to unauthorized disclosure of potentially sensitive project media files. There is no indication of further privilege escalation or system compromise from this vulnerability alone.
Mitigation Recommendations
Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to attachment directories via other means such as web server configuration or network controls to prevent unauthorized downloads.
