Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111656 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in ChatWiki through version 2.9.6. Authenticated users can supply arbitrary form_id values to API endpoints such as getFormFilterList, getFormFilterInfo, and updateFormFilterSort, allowing them to access and modify form filters belonging to other tenants. This insecure direct object reference flaw permits unauthorized reading and overwriting of filter configurations across tenant boundaries.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows authenticated users to bypass authorization controls and access or modify another tenant's form filter data. This could lead to unauthorized disclosure of filter rules and unauthorized modification of filter sort orders, potentially impacting data integrity and tenant isolation.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected API endpoints to trusted users and monitor for suspicious activity involving form_id parameters.
