Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111668 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in AIHelms through version 0.1.25, specifically in the apps/api/v1/efficiency.py component. Authenticated users with low privileges can bypass efficiency:read and efficiency:write permission checks. This allows them to query sensitive routes such as /cost/detail, /top-users, and /budget to access organization-wide AI expenditure data. Additionally, attackers can modify suggestion statuses and generate reports without proper authorization.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability permits unauthorized disclosure of sensitive organizational AI spending data and unauthorized modification of suggestion statuses and report generation. This could lead to information leakage and potential manipulation of AI efficiency metrics or reports by low-privileged users.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the affected API endpoints to trusted users only and monitor for unusual activity related to efficiency data access and modification.
