CVE-2026-111687: Improper Neutralization of Directives in Dynamically Evaluated Code ('Eval Injection') in rachelos we-mp-rss
Description
WeRSS (we-mp-rss) through 1.5.3 contains a remote code execution vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to run code via the template parameter of the public GET /rss/{feed_id} endpoint. Attackers can supply a non-built-in ext value and a {{=expression}} template whose object-subclass traversal bypasses the eval denylist to run OS commands as the service account.

Technical Analysis
The vulnerability in we-mp-rss (versions up to 1.5.3) involves improper neutralization of directives in dynamically evaluated code, specifically an 'eval injection' flaw. Attackers can exploit the template parameter of the GET /rss/{feed_id} endpoint by supplying a crafted non-built-in ext value and a {{=expression}} template. This allows object-subclass traversal that bypasses the eval denylist, resulting in remote code execution with the privileges of the service account running the application.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the server hosting we-mp-rss. This can lead to full compromise of the affected system under the service account's privileges. The CVSS 4.0 score of 9.3 reflects the critical severity and ease of exploitation without authentication.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or remediation information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the vulnerable endpoint and monitor for suspicious activity related to the template parameter.
