Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111689 describes an authorization bypass in Exrick XBoot through version 3.3.4. Authenticated users can exploit this flaw by sending a GET request to /xboot/user/getByDepartmentId/{departmentId} with arbitrary department IDs, thereby bypassing role-based data scope controls. This allows unauthorized reading of user information such as usernames, real names, mobile numbers, emails, and status for any department.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability enables unauthorized disclosure of sensitive user information across departments within the affected application. While exploitation requires authentication, it bypasses intended access controls, potentially leading to privacy violations and information leakage.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated user permissions to the minimum necessary and monitor access to the affected endpoint for suspicious activity.
