Technical Analysis
LingGuo-Drama through commit 8a6924a contains a missing authorization vulnerability (CVE-2026-111723) that permits any registered user to manage all accounts via the /admin/v1/admins API endpoint. This endpoint is protected solely by AuthAdminJWT, which does not properly restrict access. Attackers can self-register, read bcrypt hashes of all accounts, reset the bootstrap administrator's password using PUT requests, escalate their authority_id, and delete accounts. The vulnerability has a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.7, indicating high severity.
Potential Impact
An attacker with a registered user account can fully manage all accounts in the system, including reading password hashes, resetting the main administrator's password, elevating privileges, and deleting accounts. This compromises account confidentiality, integrity, and availability, potentially leading to full system takeover.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or official fix information is provided. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict user registration and monitor access to the /admin/v1/admins API. Consider disabling or restricting the AuthAdminJWT mechanism if possible.
