Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111812 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability (CWE-863) in Apache Traffic Server's origin_server_auth plugin. The flaw allows a client to coerce the proxy into signing AWS request headers chosen by an attacker using the proxy's own credentials. This could lead to unauthorized actions being performed with the proxy's AWS credentials. The vulnerability affects Apache Traffic Server versions >=8.0.0 <=8.1.11, >=9.0.0 <=9.2.15, >=10.0.0 <=10.1.4, and =10.2.0. The issue is addressed in versions 9.2.16, 10.1.5, and 10.2.1.
