Published: 10/19/2026 (10/19/2026, 13:55:08 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: purocean
Product: Yank Note

Description

Yank Note before 3.93.1 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files via the path or doc parameter of /api/help. Attackers can supply repeated '../' segments, which bypass the single-replacement sanitization in the publicly allowlisted endpoint, to read SSH keys, configuration, or notes.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111915 describes a path traversal vulnerability in purocean's Yank Note software prior to version 3.93.1. The vulnerability exists in the /api/help endpoint, which accepts 'path' or 'doc' parameters. Due to improper limitation of pathname inputs, attackers can supply repeated '../' segments to bypass the single-replacement sanitization mechanism. This allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files on the server, potentially exposing sensitive information like SSH keys, configuration files, or notes.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to read arbitrary files on the affected system. This can lead to disclosure of sensitive information such as SSH private keys, configuration files, or confidential notes, which may facilitate further attacks or unauthorized access.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Yank Note version 3.93.1. Users should upgrade to version 3.93.1 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigation guidance is provided.
