Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111957 describes an incorrect authorization vulnerability (CWE-863) in the SUMIT Payment Gateway for WooCommerce plugin prior to version 4.0.0. The plugin does not properly associate confirmed payments with the corresponding orders and does not validate that the payment amount matches the order total. Consequently, an attacker can replay a payment identifier obtained from any legitimate payment to mark a pending order as paid without authentication.

Potential Impact

An attacker can fraudulently mark pending orders as paid without authorization, potentially leading to unauthorized order fulfillment or financial loss. This undermines the integrity of the payment process within affected WooCommerce installations using the vulnerable plugin versions.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in version 4.0.0 of the SUMIT Payment Gateway for WooCommerce plugin. Users should upgrade to version 4.0.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No vendor advisory or patch link was provided, so verify the availability of the update from the official plugin source.
