CVE-2026-112004: Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key in teableio teable
Description
Teable versions prior to 2026-10-12T12-45-53Z.3331 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability. Authenticated users can rename folders in bases where they lack membership by supplying a foreign folderId to the PATCH /api/base/:baseId/node/folder/:folderId endpoint. The endpoint only verifies update permissions against the URL baseId, allowing unauthorized folder renaming.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-112004 describes an authorization bypass in teable before 2026-10-12T12-45-53Z.3331. The vulnerability arises because the PATCH /api/base/:baseId/node/folder/:folderId endpoint validates update permissions solely against the baseId in the URL, ignoring the folderId parameter. This flaw enables authenticated users to rename folders in other bases where they do not have membership by supplying a folderId from a foreign base, effectively bypassing intended access controls.
Potential Impact
Authenticated users can rename folders in bases where they lack membership, potentially leading to unauthorized modification of folder names across different bases. The CVSS score of 2.3 indicates a low severity impact, reflecting limited scope and complexity of exploitation.
Mitigation Recommendations
A fix is available in teable versions released on or after 2026-10-12T12-45-53Z.3331. Users should upgrade to this version or later to remediate the authorization bypass vulnerability. No additional mitigation guidance is provided.
