CVE-2026-112015: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') in omnigent-ai omnigent
Description
Omnigent 0.3.0 before 0.14.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated users to escape the workspace by setting os_env.cwd on nested sub-agents. Attackers can upload a bundle whose sub-agent uses an absolute or parent-traversing working directory, bypassing root-only validation in bundles.py, to read and write host files as the runner user.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-112015 is a path traversal vulnerability in omnigent-ai's omnigent product affecting versions from 0.3.0 up to 0.14.0. The flaw arises because authenticated users can manipulate the working directory of nested sub-agents by setting os_env.cwd to an absolute or parent-traversing path. This bypasses the intended root-only validation in bundles.py, enabling attackers to escape the restricted workspace and read or write arbitrary files on the host system with the runner user's permissions.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows an authenticated user to escape the restricted workspace environment and access or modify arbitrary files on the host system as the runner user. This can lead to unauthorized data access or modification, potentially compromising system integrity and confidentiality.
Mitigation Recommendations
No explicit patch or remediation details are provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to trusted authenticated users and monitor for suspicious activity related to nested sub-agent configurations.
