Until a fix is available, users should avoid processing untrusted SOA data or apply application-level input validation to ensure SOA RDATA includes proper NUL terminators.
Description
CVE-2026-112274 is an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in libtins up to version 4.6. It occurs in the DNS::soa_record::init function when processing SOA data that lacks NUL terminators. Remote attackers can exploit this by supplying raw SOA RDATA without a zero byte, causing strlen to read beyond the buffer and potentially crash the application.
