Product: @rvf/set-get

Description

CVE-2026-112309 is a prototype pollution vulnerability in the @rvf/set-get package before version 7.0.4. It allows unauthenticated attackers to overwrite properties of shared built-in functions via inherited Object.prototype methods. Specifically, attackers can submit a form field named hasOwnProperty.call through @rvf/core form parsing, replacing the shared function property and causing a process-wide denial of service until the application is restarted.

Technical Analysis

@rvf/set-get versions prior to 7.0.4 contain a prototype pollution vulnerability in the setPath function. This flaw enables attackers to manipulate inherited Object.prototype attributes, such as hasOwnProperty.call, by submitting specially crafted form fields. The exploitation results in overwriting shared built-in function properties, leading to denial of service affecting the entire process until it is restarted.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can cause a denial of service condition that affects the entire process by overwriting shared built-in function properties. This disruption persists until the affected application is restarted, potentially impacting availability.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in version 7.0.4 of @rvf/set-get. Users should upgrade to version 7.0.4 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No vendor advisory content is provided, so patch status is inferred from the version information. No additional mitigations are specified.
