Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-112773 is a remote code execution vulnerability in Craft CMS affecting versions >=5.0.0 and <5.11.0. The flaw allows authenticated Control Panel users to escape the Twig sandbox by providing uncleansed input to the getNext, getPrev, or getOwners methods. This input can include Yii 'as' or 'on' configuration keys, which attach malicious event handlers that execute when the element query runs, resulting in code execution with the privileges of the web user.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation allows an authenticated user with Control Panel access to execute arbitrary code on the server as the web user. This can lead to full compromise of the web application environment depending on the privileges of the web user.
Mitigation Recommendations
The vulnerability affects Craft CMS versions >=5.0.0 and <5.11.0. Users should upgrade to version 5.11.0 or later where this issue is fixed. No vendor advisory or patch link was provided in the input, so patch status should be verified with the vendor. Until patched, restrict Control Panel access to trusted users only.
