Published: 10/21/2026 (10/21/2026, 00:36:34 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: ArcadeData
Product: arcadedb

Description

ArcadeDB versions before 26.10.1 have a remote code execution vulnerability due to insufficient authorization checks in the GremlinQueryEngine.command() method. Authenticated users, including those with read-only roles, can execute Groovy code via the POST /api/v1/command/{database} endpoint if the Groovy engine is enabled. This allows execution of OS commands with the privileges of the server process user.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114059 describes a remote code execution vulnerability in ArcadeDB prior to version 26.10.1. The flaw arises because the GremlinQueryEngine.command() method does not enforce scripting authorization checks, enabling authenticated users—even those with read-only 'reader' roles—to submit Gremlin commands that execute Groovy code. When the Groovy scripting engine is enabled, this can be exploited via the POST /api/v1/command/{database} endpoint to run arbitrary OS commands as the server process user.

Potential Impact

An attacker with any authenticated access, including read-only roles, can execute arbitrary operating system commands on the server hosting ArcadeDB. This elevates the attacker's privileges to that of the server process user, potentially leading to full system compromise or data breach.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade ArcadeDB to version 26.10.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. The vendor advisory confirms that versions before 26.10.1 are affected and the issue is resolved in 26.10.1. No other mitigation or temporary fix is indicated.
