CVE-2026-114078: Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key in triggerdotdev trigger.dev
Description
Trigger.dev versions before 4.5.6 have an authorization bypass vulnerability in the DeleteTaskScheduleService and SetActiveOnTaskScheduleService. This flaw allows authenticated users to delete or disable schedules belonging to other organizations by exploiting user-controlled keys. Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-114078 describes an authorization bypass vulnerability in trigger.dev prior to version 4.5.6. The vulnerability exists in the DeleteTaskScheduleService and SetActiveOnTaskScheduleService components, which improperly authorize requests. Authenticated users can send delete or disable actions using their own project's schedule route but specify a victim schedule's friendlyId, enabling them to delete or disable schedules from other organizations. This impacts the integrity of imperative cron schedules across organizations using the platform.
Potential Impact
An attacker with authentication can delete or disable schedules belonging to other organizations, potentially disrupting scheduled tasks and workflows. This compromises the availability and integrity of scheduled operations managed by trigger.dev for affected organizations.
Mitigation Recommendations
A fix is available in trigger.dev version 4.5.6. Users should upgrade to version 4.5.6 or later to remediate this authorization bypass vulnerability.
