Published: 10/21/2026 (10/21/2026, 00:36:49 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: triggerdotdev
Product: trigger.dev

Description

Trigger.dev versions before 4.6.2 have an authorization vulnerability that allows users holding a public token with session write access to obtain environment-wide S2 stream credentials. These credentials can be misused to manipulate session and run streams, including appending, creating, or deleting records. This vulnerability has a high severity rating with a CVSS score of 7.2.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114082 describes an authorization vulnerability in trigger.dev prior to version 4.6.2. The flaw allows an attacker possessing a public token with session write privileges to retrieve environment-wide S2 stream credentials through session input initialization. With these credentials, the attacker can directly interact with the storage API to append, create, or trim session and run streams, potentially forging output or permanently deleting records. This vulnerability impacts versions from 0 up to but not including 4.6.2.

Potential Impact

An attacker with a public token and session write access can escalate privileges to obtain sensitive environment-wide credentials. This enables unauthorized manipulation of session and run streams, including data creation, modification, or deletion, which can compromise data integrity and availability within the affected environment.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade trigger.dev to version 4.6.2 or later, where this authorization vulnerability has been fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated in the available data.
