CVE-2026-114085: Missing Authentication for Critical Function in triggerdotdev trigger.dev
Description
Trigger.dev versions up to and including 4.7.6 have a missing authentication vulnerability in the supervisor workload server. This flaw allows workloads to manipulate runs of other deployments without verifying ownership. An attacker with network access and a valid run/snapshot pair can call the attempts/start endpoint to access sensitive data such as resolved environment variables and run JWTs, or control other tenants' runs by starting, completing, or suspending them.

Technical Analysis
CVE-2026-114085 describes a missing authentication vulnerability in trigger.dev through version 4.7.6. The supervisor workload server does not verify ownership when workloads manipulate runs, enabling attackers with network access and a valid run/snapshot pair to call the attempts/start endpoint. This allows unauthorized access to resolved environment variables and run JWTs, and the ability to start, complete, or suspend runs belonging to other tenants.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability allows attackers to access sensitive environment variables and JWT tokens of other tenants, potentially leading to unauthorized access or manipulation of workflows. Attackers can also control the state of other tenants' runs, which may disrupt operations or lead to data integrity issues. The CVSS 4.0 score of 8.8 (high severity) reflects the significant impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Mitigation Recommendations
No patch or remediation information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict network access to the supervisor workload server and monitor for unauthorized attempts to call the attempts/start endpoint.
