Published: 10/21/2026 (10/21/2026, 12:39:53 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: polonel
Product: trudesk

Description

Trudesk through 1.2.11 contains a missing authentication vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download private ticket attachments under /uploads. Because express.static serves the public/ directory before the hasAuth-guarded /uploads mount, attackers who know or guess a ticket ObjectId and filename can retrieve confidential attachments.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114400 affects Trudesk through version 1.2.11. The vulnerability arises from the way the Express.js static middleware serves the public directory before the uploads directory, which is protected by an authentication guard. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can bypass authentication and download private ticket attachments by guessing or knowing the ticket ObjectId and filename under the /uploads path.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can access and download confidential ticket attachments, potentially exposing sensitive information. The vulnerability has a high severity with a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.2, indicating a network attack vector with low complexity and no user interaction required. The impact is limited to confidentiality loss of private attachments.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the uploads directory or implement additional authentication controls to prevent unauthorized access to private attachments.
