AI-suggested

Red Hat recommends maintaining or reverting the caller propagation setting to the default 'none' in the IIOP subsystem configuration and ensuring application deployment descriptors do not override this setting. Additionally, restricting network access to the CORBA/IIOP port 3528 via firewall rules or limiting access to trusted networks mitigates exposure. If caller propagation is necessary, enforce transport-level security by requiring SSL/TLS with client certificate authentication or mandatory authentication context. Configuration changes require a runtime service reload, temporarily interrupting active connections.

Description

CVE-2026-114488 is a vulnerability in Wildfly, affecting Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 8, where a remote attacker can bypass authentication on IIOP EJB invocations. This occurs because the CSIv2 security interceptor accepts ITTPrincipalName identity assertions without verifying transport-level authentication, allowing impersonation of any principal on IIOP-exposed @Remote EJBs if certain non-default configurations are enabled.
