Description

CVE-2026-115729 is a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the pdfme common library versions from 5.5.10 up to but not including 6.2.6. The flaw allows attackers to bypass the isUrlSafeToFetch denylist in the getB64BasePdf function by using specially crafted basePdf URLs with IPv4-mapped IPv6, [::], NAT64, or localhost alias hostnames. This enables reading of loopback, internal, or cloud metadata responses through generated PDF documents.

Technical Analysis

The pdfme common library versions >=5.5.10 and <6.2.6 contain an SSRF vulnerability where the isUrlSafeToFetch denylist can be bypassed. Attackers can supply basePdf URLs using IPv4-mapped IPv6, [::], NAT64, or localhost alias hostnames to access internal network resources or cloud metadata services when generating PDF documents via the getB64BasePdf function. This vulnerability has a CVSS 4.0 score of 8.9, indicating high severity.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an unauthenticated attacker to perform SSRF attacks that bypass URL safety checks, potentially exposing sensitive internal network resources, loopback interfaces, or cloud metadata endpoints. This can lead to information disclosure of internal services not normally accessible externally.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, avoid using vulnerable versions (>=5.5.10 <6.2.6) of pdfme common or restrict the use of untrusted input for basePdf URLs in getB64BasePdf. Monitor vendor communications for patches or updates.
