AI-suggested

Users should monitor vendor communications for updates. Until a fix is released, consider restricting network access from the affected component to internal resources and validate or sanitize inputs to the load_file_from_uri function if possible.

Description

CVE-2026-116000 is a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in Zylon PrivateGPT versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.1. The flaw exists in the load_file_from_uri function within the URI Artifact Loader component, allowing remote attackers to manipulate input arguments to initiate SSRF attacks. The vulnerability has a CVSS 4.0 score of 6.9 (medium severity). Public exploit code is available, but there is no vendor response or patch released at this time.

Impact

Successful exploitation allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to cause the server to make arbitrary HTTP requests, which can lead to information disclosure or interaction with internal systems not otherwise accessible. The CVSS score of 6.9 indicates a medium severity impact with low complexity and no privileges required. No confirmed active exploitation in the wild is reported.

Summary

This vulnerability affects the load_file_from_uri function in the private_gpt/server/ingest/uri_loader.py file of Zylon PrivateGPT versions 1.0.0 and 1.0.1. By manipulating the argument 'Value' passed to this function, an attacker can perform server-side request forgery, potentially causing the server to make unintended HTTP requests. The vulnerability is remotely exploitable without authentication. The vendor was notified but has not responded or issued a fix. Public exploit code has been released.
