AI-suggested

A fix is available in NiubiGEO version 0.3.2. Users should upgrade to version 0.3.2 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No vendor advisory content is provided, so patch status is inferred from the version information. Until upgraded, restrict access to the POST /audit-plan endpoint and validate or sanitize domain input to prevent SSRF exploitation.

Description

NiubiGEO versions before 0.3.2 have an unauthenticated server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability. This flaw allows remote attackers to make the server perform HTTP requests to internal or private network addresses by sending a crafted domain value to the POST /audit-plan endpoint. Exploitation can lead to disclosure of internal network resources or cloud metadata via the plan's siteEvidence JSON response.

Impact

An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this SSRF vulnerability to access internal network resources, including loopback and private IP addresses, as well as cloud metadata endpoints. This can lead to information disclosure of internal infrastructure details, which may facilitate further attacks. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 6.9, indicating a medium severity impact.

Summary

CVE-2026-116069 is an SSRF vulnerability in Albert-Weasker's NiubiGEO product affecting versions prior to 0.3.2. The vulnerability arises because the application accepts a domain parameter in POST /audit-plan without proper validation, enabling attackers to induce the server to fetch internal IP literals, localhost, private, or link-local hosts. The server then returns responses from these internal resources in the JSON output, potentially exposing sensitive internal information.
