Upgrade SiYuan to version 3.8.7 or later where this vulnerability is fixed. Since the vulnerability is patched in 3.8.7, applying this official fix will remediate the issue.
Description
SiYuan before 3.8.7 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the MCP asset tool because validateAssetUploadPaths relies on an incomplete sensitive-path blacklist that omits .env and other secret files. Authenticated attackers driving the MCP asset upload action can copy such local files into the workspace and read them back via /assets/ over HTTP.
Impact
An authenticated attacker can read sensitive local files, including secret configuration files like .env, by exploiting the path traversal flaw in the asset upload functionality. This can lead to disclosure of sensitive information stored on the host running SiYuan, increasing the risk of further compromise.
