Until an official fix is available, restrict edit permissions to trusted users and consider disabling KaTeX trust rendering if possible to reduce exposure.
Description
SiYuan from 2.10.0 before 3.8.7 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability that allows users with edit permission to inject script by placing javascript: URLs in math block content rendered with KaTeX trust enabled. Attackers can store \href, \url, or \includegraphics payloads that mathRender assigns via innerHTML, executing script in the application origin when a reader clicks the rendered link.
Impact
An attacker with edit permissions can inject malicious JavaScript that executes in the context of the application when a reader clicks the crafted link. This can lead to unauthorized actions performed on behalf of the user, data theft, or other script-based attacks within the application origin. The vulnerability requires user interaction (click) and privileges to edit content, limiting the attack scope.
