No explicit patch or remediation is stated in the provided data. Until a fix is available, restrict access to authenticated users and monitor for abnormal memory usage patterns related to audio input processing.
Description
vLLM versions from 0.19.0 up to but not including 0.24.0 contain a decompression bomb vulnerability in the AudioMediaIO multimodal path. Authenticated attackers can send small compressed audio inputs that decompress to very large PCM data, exhausting server memory and potentially causing denial of service.
Impact
The vulnerability enables authenticated attackers to cause denial of service by exhausting server memory through decompression of crafted audio inputs. This can degrade or crash the vLLM service, impacting availability.
