AI-suggested
A fix is available in Snipe-IT version 8.5.0. Users should upgrade to version 8.5.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation guidance is provided in the input data.
Description
Snipe-IT versions before 8.5.0 have a SAML assertion replay vulnerability that allows attackers to reuse captured assertions due to a non-atomic nonce check in the SAML ACS handler. This flaw enables attackers to send concurrent POST requests with a single captured assertion to create multiple authenticated sessions, bypassing identity provider revocation mechanisms.
Impact
Attackers can exploit this vulnerability to bypass authentication controls by replaying captured SAML assertions multiple times, resulting in multiple active authenticated sessions for the victim. This undermines the security of the authentication process and can lead to unauthorized access to the affected Snipe-IT instances.
