Upgrade MIME-tools to version 5.521 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. Avoid setting the output base directory to locations writable by untrusted users, such as /tmp, to reduce risk until patched.
Description
MIME::Parser::FileUnder in MIME-tools versions before 5.521 allows local users to redirect attachment writes by exploiting symlink following in pre-created output directories. This occurs when the output base directory is writable by other users, enabling an attacker to create symlinks that cause the parser to write attachments to unintended locations.
